After World War II he and his father founded the company of WL & OD Redman to make wine. Owen Redman won a first prize at the Adelaide Wine Show in 1947 for a claret. From 1953 they marketed their wine under the label of Rouge Homme Winery. In 1962 they received their 50th show award in the claret section since 1947. In 1963 the 1959 Redman wine at the Australian Championship Wine Show in Sydney wines The Arthur Kelman Memorial Trophy, The Dr Gilbert Philip Memorial Trophy and the John Dynon Trophy for the champion of champions, the best wine in the Show.
They sold the winery and vineyards to Lindemans in 1965.
Owen Redman established a new winery under his own name 'Redman Winery' (OD & EM Redman), in 1965, although the winery building was known as Redbank. In 1969 they won the Shepherd Wine Tankers Trophy in the Adelaide Show and reached 100 awards for claret in major wine shows. In 1971 Redman wins the AGM Trophy in the Adelaide Show. In 1973 reached 150 shows awards for dry reds. In 1976 Redmans won the Montgomery Trophy in the Adelaide Wine Show. In 1977 wins the Arthur Kelman Trophy at the Sydney Wine Show. In 1979 the year that Bill Redman died, they had won 200 awards in dry red since 1947.
This Winery is still operated by the family (2008).
