James Hugh ROBINSON was born in Portarlington, Victoria, Australia in 1872. In 1896 he married Florence Agnes BOLLEMAN who was born in Collingwood in 1877. She was a daughter of Albert Emile BOLLEMAN and Hannah Agnes LUCAS.
Jim died in Bairnsdale, Victoria, Australia on 11 April 1935 and Flo died there in 1956.
James Hugh ROBINSON (called Jim or more often by his nickname “Squid”) and Flo had four children –
I. Frederick Albert ROBINSON, born on 21 Mar 1898
II. Bessy Agnes ROBINSON, born on 3 Nov 1899.
III.Francis William ROBINSON, born on 3 Apr 1901.
IV. Eunice ROBINSON, born and died in 1915.
Frederick Albert ROBINSON (nicknamed “Guddie”) was born 21 Mar 1898 on Raymond Island, Paynesville, Victoria.
Fred married Winifred Jessie FLEISCHER (a daughter of Henry William FLEISCHER and Jessie Elizabeth LAWRENCE) in Bairnsdale on 3 Mar 1926. He died on 18 Dec 1979 in hospital at Moruya, New South Wales, Australia.
Win was born on 8 May 1906 in Paynesville and died on 22 Oct 1989, also in Moruya Hospital.
Fred and Win are buried in the cemetery overlooking the Tasman Sea at Narooma, New South Wales where they had lived for some years.
Fred and Win had four children –
A. Faye Winifred ROBINSON, born 11 Aug 1928 in Bairnsdale.
B. Lawrence James ROBINSON, born 18 Oct 1934 in Bairnsdale.
C. Noel Francis ROBINSON, born 8 May 1942 in Bairnsdale.
D. Garry Frederick ROBINSON, born 2 Feb 1944 in Bairnsdale.
II. Bessy Agnes ROBINSON was born on 3 Nov 1899 in Port Albert, Victoria. She married James SMITH in 1919. Jim was born 25 Nov 1897. Bess died on 29 Dec 1965.
Bess and Jim had two children -
A. Ina SMITH, born on 12 Nov 1920.
B. Edna SMITH born on 3 Dec 1921, died 27 Oct 1975. She married Albert Gordon SIMPSON who was born 12 Jan 1919 and died 2 Aug 1972.
1. Sandra Suzanne SIMPSON.
2. James McNeil SIMPSON.
3. Kerry Anne SIMPSON.
III. Francis William ROBINSON, usually known as Sam, was born on 3 Apr 1901 on Raymond Island, Paynesville. Sam married Elizabeth Maude HAYES, usually known as Bessie, at St Pauls, Ascot Vale, Victoria on 22 September 1928. Bessie was born in North Melbourne on 5 May 1904. Sam died on 21 Jan 1941 as result of being struck by a falling tree branch in North Arm, near Lakes Entrance, Gippsland Lakes, Victoria.
Sam and Bessie had three children –
A. Leigh Francis ROBINSON, born on 3 Nov 1930 in Bairnsdale.
B. Joan Elizabeth ROBINSON,born on 21 Feb 1935 in Melbourne.
C. Esther Lorraine ROBINSON, born on 23 Aug 1937 in Bairnsdale.
